“The £38 billion project which the Government will hold a 44.9% stake alongside backers EDF, La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec), Centrica and Amber Infrastructure Limited, will be under new legal architecture and likely become the template for future critical infrastructure delivery.

Sizewell C will be a replica build to Hinkley Point C incorporating lessons learnt and best practice to help drive down cost and improve efficiency going forward. With 70% of total spend of the project anticipated to go to over 3,500 British companies it is a perfect opportunity to grow the nuclear sector in terms of supply chain and skills for the coming decades and support the UK economy.

This isn’t just about building a nuclear power station which combined with Hinkley Point C will deliver clean energy to over 12 million homes for over 60 years; it’s about driving the UK’s decarbonisation ambitions; supporting our energy security agenda; and a boost in terms of infrastructure transformation the UK needs.

Our growing membership of professional service businesses who have either direct or transferable expertise in the nuclear sector look forward to advising companies wishing to be involved in the building of Sizewell C.”
