With seven UK centres, a combined workforce of 600 and a varied and growing customer base, Clarke Willmott is justifiably proud of the strong partnerships it has developed with clients large and small across 130 years in business. Some require our services only occasionally; others rather more frequently, but – no matter what their needs – the same organisational values of openness, trust and mutual benefit underpin everything we do.
Our relationship with Bridgwater & Taunton College spans almost a quarter of a century, during which time Kevin Jones, Partner and Head of National Employment and HR – ably assisted by colleagues in over fifteen specialisms – has provided advice and guidance in a myriad of ways, supporting the College to develop into a £54m turnover business that plays an anchor role within the local and regional communities.
A particular highlight has been the support we’ve been able to offer the College in maximising the opportunities presented by the nuclear new build at Hinkley Point C. Highly proactive in engaging with all major stakeholders, the College has involved Clarke Willmott from the outset, seeking assistance on various aspects of commercial law, employment law, contractual service framework agreements and licencing. An ambitious investment programme that has included the new McMillan Theatre, an Agricultural Innovation Centre and the Government flagship National College for Nuclear has further cemented the relationship, with Clarke Willmott always on hand for guidance and advice.
Kevin Jones says:
“I have witnessed at first hand the transformation that has taken place at the College in recent years. A strategic programme of investment and growth – including a merger between the former Bridgwater and Somerset Colleges – has seen it become one of the largest and most respected colleges in the country. For an organisation that is so complex and so diverse to remain at the pinnacle of its profession for this long is testament to strong vision and leadership, and we’re very proud to have been their key professional advisers throughout.”
