The CRUX report is an annual Thought Leadership Publication which provides the engineering and construction industry with valuable insight into causation of claims and disputes from major capital projects HKA has worked on from around the world.

The 2019 CRUX report is based on the analysis of 4,105 causes of dispute on major 700 projects in 72 countries which HKA worked on between January 2017 to the end of August 2019 with a combined capital expenditure in excess of US$1.2 trillion.

David Price, Partner at HKA

David is a chartered quantity surveyor, arbitrator and barrister with over 40 years’ experience in quantity surveying and construction dispute resolution. David is experienced in the strategic management and planning of resources necessary for the execution of major disputes and is particularly involved in directing the resolution of international claims.

He has been involved in some of the largest commissions undertaken by HKA working closely with instructing solicitors and external counsel. He has an established client base of large international oil/gas operators and contractors, international civil engineering contractors and international building contractors. He is skilled in the drafting of contract documentation, provision of engineering and construction contractual advice, preparation of claims for extensions of time and additional cost, arbitration proceedings and litigation support.

Charles Wilsoncroft, Partner at HKA

Charles is a chartered civil engineer with over 19 years’ experience in the construction industry. Charles has experience dealing with all manner of civil engineering and construction projects, including offshore and onshore infrastructure, energy and construction schemes.

He has extensive knowledge of contract dispute procedures, including negotiated settlements, mediation, conciliation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation, both in the UK and overseas and is actively involved in providing advisory services to apply lessons learned to the wider industry. He has practical knowledge of numerous standard construction contract forms including FIDIC, NEC, ICE, LOGIC and BIMCO.
